Colorado Mountain College student Valerie Martell recently joined her classmates in Laura Minch’s Psychology of Death and Dying class to create a “Before I Die” wall at CMC Glenwood Springs (on Blake Avenue). The class wrote responses they have collected to the prompt “before I die I want to … .” All students and members of the community are welcome to add their thoughts to the wall, which will be on display through the end of the semester in mid-December. ‘Climbing El Capitan’ with Selah and Mike Schneiter Sept. 27

‘All Creatures Great and Small’ an elegy for threatened animals

“Pica,” by Nicolette Toussaint, is one of the paintings on display through Oct. 7 in “All Creatures Great and Small,” at the CMC ArtShare Gallery at Morgridge Commons. Toussaint said she is awed by the pica’s ability to survive winters in places such as on the slopes of Mt. Sopris. “It’s an amazing feat for a creature about the size of a baked potato,” she said.
