All are invited to savor the natural beauty of Colorado at the Feb. 14 reception for pastel artist Doug Graybeal’s “Captivating Colorado” exhibit. The exhibit will be on display Jan. 20 through March 16 at the CMC ArtShare Gallery at Morgridge Commons in Glenwood Springs.

“After practicing the ‘hard line art’ of architecture for 40 years, Doug decided to more deeply explore the softer, more free-flowing art of watercolors along with the vibrancy of pastels,” according to his website, douggraybeal.com.

Graybeal enjoys painting outdoors and has participated in several plein-air events throughout Colorado, including the 2017 Aspen Plein Air Festival. He was awarded the Grand Prize at the 2017 and Second Place at the 2018 Colorado National Monument Association Plein Air Event.

Graybeal’s upcoming exhibit will reflect his lifetime of enjoyment of the outdoors. All are welcome to this free artist’s reception, from 6 to 8 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
