‘A Woman’s Touch’ featured in Glenwood Springs

“Fully Operational Black Hole” by Susan Oehme will be one of the works featured in “A Woman's Touch,” a collaborative exhibit curated by the Glenwood Springs Arts Council and Colorado Mountain College Glenwood Springs. An opening reception will be held 6-8 p.m. June 14, 2019, at the CMC Glenwood Center on Blake.

‘Watercolorists of the Colorado Creative Districts’ reception to feature art from region, state

"(Blame it all Upon) A Rush of Blood To The Head," watercolor, series of three, by Brian Colley of Carbondale is one of the works that will be exhibited at the "Watercolorists of the Colorado Creative Districts" reception on May 17. Running from 6 to 8 p.m., the reception will be at the CMC ArtShare Gallery at Morgridge Commons in downtown Glenwood Springs.

Salida officials tour CMC campuses

At the Jan. 30 meeting of the Colorado Mountain College Board of Trustees, the trustees met with a delegation of about 20 from Salida, including Salida School Board members, school district administrators, school principals and several elected officials. The group was on a multiday visit to the college, including stops at campuses in Leadville, Vail Valley at Edwards, Glenwood Springs and Aspen.

Wild horse photographs featured at Glenwood opening

“Wild Horses of the Sand Wash Basin,” an art exhibit at the CMC ArtShare Gallery featuring photographs by local photographer Scot Gerdes, depicts horses living in this herd management area about 45 miles northwest of Craig. Fascinated by wild herds, Gerdes first began taking photos of horses in the Little Bookcliffs area near Grand Junction. A free public opening reception will be held Feb. 8 in Morgridge Commons.
