Photo portfolios showcased online during pandemic

Because of precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the college’s graduating photography students are using an online digital gallery to display their portfolios to the public. “Digital Gallery” can be viewed virtually and will remain online indefinitely. One of the ways COVID-19 has impacted college students everywhere is that they have learned to celebrate their achievements differently. For instance, because CMC’s graduating professional photography students couldn’t experience the program’s in-person public portfolio review at the end of the spring semester, they have waited until this fall to share their work.

These graduating students in Colorado Mountain College’s professional photography program are presenting “Digital Gallery” in two formats: in a gallery at the Spring Valley campus (where students and college employees can view it) and in an interactive, digital gallery that showcases the students’ portfolios online. Curated by the CMC Photography Club, the online exhibit will be available indefinitely for viewing by all members of the public.

Because visits to the campus are not permitted, the interactive gallery allows viewers to see the students’ final portfolio pieces, regardless of time and location of the viewer. These images have yet to be seen by the public and represent years of the students’ work to define their personal style and craft.

View the portfolios at “Digital Gallery.”

The digital gallery is available to view at no charge. The professional photography program is part of the Isaacson School for Communication, Arts and Media at Colorado Mountain College.
