The iconic arches of Arches National Park in Moab, Utah, will be on the itinerary of Professor Garry Zabel’s four-day geology field trip course April 3-6.

Veteran geologist Garry Zabel is leading a four-day field trip this spring to the popular desert destinations, Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.

This two-credit geology course is open to all students across the college. The pre- and post-trip classroom lectures are available via the Interactive Video System at all campuses. The field trip is Thursday through Sunday, April 3 to 6.

Students will consider the geologic forces that created these stunning natural wonders. The itinerary also includes stops at Deadhorse Point, Upheaval Dome, Island in the Sky and the Needles District.

The cost is two credits of tuition plus a $215 supplemental charge that pays for all food, campground fees and transportation. The first class meeting is March 27, and a follow-up lecture will be held April 10.
