Nine students added up their enthusiam to earn the Most Spirited Small School award at the regional IACURH conference Nov. 10-12 at the University of Wyoming.

Nine students from Colorado Mountain College-Spring Valley recently attended the Intermountain Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (IACURH) conference at the University of Wyoming and walked away with the Most Spirited Small School award.

IACURH is part of the larger National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH). It is the largest student-run organization on the globe. Nathan Kafka, Assistant Coordinator of Student Life at Spring Valley, says the organization is important because it not only provides new education and recreation program ideas to its members, but it also provides incredible leadership and growth opportunities to participants.

The Most Spirited Small School prize is awarded to a campus chapter from a college with 1000 or fewer residents whose delegates have demonstrated such things as enthusiasm, interaction, conference participation and, as you can tell from the photo, coordinating outfits.

Participants from the Spring Valley campus included: Sean O’Brien (Residence Hall Association President), Lindsay Versaw (RHA Vice President and Resident Assistant), Rose Levy (RHA Secretary), Nick Sanferrare (RHA Treasurer), Trish Martin (RHA National Communications Coordinator), Nick Spriggs (Resident Assistant), Sloan Oeinck (Resident Assistant), Poppy Higgins (Resident) and Traci Spirek (Resident).

The Intermountain Affiliate is made up of seven U.S. states and two Canadian provinces, including, Alberta, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Saskatchewan, Utah, and Wyoming.
