Spring Valley buildings win engineering award

Haselden Construction has won an Engineering News-Record regional award for two recently completed campus structures at Colorado Mountain College Spring Valley. The J. Robert Young Alpine Ascent Center serves as a welcoming home base for residential and commuter students, in addition to providing office, meeting and classroom space.

Common Reader art and writing winners inspired by ‘Fig’

Amber Aguilera, a student at Lake County High School, won first place in CMC’s Common Reader art contest for “Thorns That Hold Me Back,” pastel. Aguilera’s work is based on this year’s Common Reader book, “Fig” by Sarah Elizabeth Schantz.

CMC earns honorable mention in national climate leadership awards

Adrian Fielder, assistant dean of instruction at Colorado Mountain College Spring Valley at Glenwood Springs, fuels up at the college’s electric vehicle charging station at CMC Carbondale. Colorado Mountain College brings home communication awards

“Because of You,” Colorado Mountain College’s 50th anniversary book, recently received a regional gold Medallion award from the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations. The publication is a commemorative look back at the history and evolution of CMC. What began as a two-campus junior college in 1967 today is a two- and four-year degree-granting institution with 11 campuses and locations throughout the state’s north-central Rockies.

Colorado Mountain College recently received four Medallion awards from the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations. Colorado Mountain College comes out on top

With a footprint of more than 800 acres, Colorado Mountain College Spring Valley at Glenwood Springs is one of the college’s 11 locations. And its high ropes course shown here is a small example of why CMC was named Elevation Outdoors Magazine’s 2018 Top Adventure College. The college is set in the midst of Rocky Mountain recreation, and many of its programs prepare students for careers that celebrate an active outdoor lifestyle.
