Colorado Mountain College will hold a free one-day First Generation College Summit for students and their parents on Saturday, April 6, 8 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., at Glenwood Springs High School, 1521 Grand Ave.
The focus will be on educating students who will be the first in their family to attend college, also known as “first generation” students.
Students in grades 7 through 10 and their parents are highly encouraged to attend, but everyone is welcome, including high school juniors and seniors and non-first-generation students. The summit will feature:
- breakout sessions on career pathways, parent involvement, financial aid, transitioning from high school and more
- information from local social service organizations to help maximize college success
