Dr. Dave Ruffley and Gretchen “Greta” Jorgensen have been named 2015 full-time and adjunct, respectively, Faculty of the Year for Colorado Mountain College’s campus in Rifle.
One colleague who nominated Ruffley said he was “incredible in the classroom, more engaging and inspiring, not to say inspirational.” In her nomination Ruffley’s supervisor, Laura Hardman, said, “Dave has high standards and expectations for every student he teaches, and he works very hard to make sure they are successful in his class. Dave is admired and respected for this. He also has high expectations of himself.”
In nominating Jorgensen, one colleague, Tanya Doose, said, “Greta always lights up a room with her smile and happy spirit. She connects with her students and makes class fun.” And the campus dean, Rachel Pokrandt, said, “She is an adjunct who gives as much service and engagement to the campus as full-time faculty members. She has also taught a ground-breaking concurrent-enrollment-paired class that has elevated a number of our underserved students into a college pathway.”
