Get the message: update your contact information.

Take a couple of minutes to update your Colorado Mountain College contact information. It could save you a lot of trouble down the road.

On Sept. 29, the College will test CMC Alert, the notification system designed to notify students and employees about emergencies or weather closures. When there is an on-campus emergency or classes are canceled due to weather, this system will send email, voice mail and text messages to the affected students.

If your contact information is up to date and accurate, you’ll get the message. Simple as that.

Be part of the test. Update your information today! In the event of an emergency or unexpected campus closure, you will only receive a CMC ALERT message if your phone numbers and email addresses are accurately listed in the college system.

Employees:

  • Login to WebAdvisor
  • Select your section (Faculty, or Employees)
  • Under “User Account,” click on “MyProfile-Contact Update” ( The “My Profile” screen displays your current information.)
  • Select “Click Here to update Profile”

Right now, the “update your contact information” link is working only if
you login directly to WebAdvisor, but not if you go in via the MyCMC. This issue is being addressed.

Students: Contact the front desk staff at the campus you are attending. They will update your information for you.

This system will only be used to distribute information regarding emergencies that require immediate action. It will not be used for marketing messages or non-urgent communication. An emergency is a situation that poses an immediate risk to the health and safety of the campus community or significantly disrupts its programs and activities.

Examples of CMC Alert emergencies include:

  • cancellation of classes due to a fire, flood
  • unexpected road closures
  • evacuation of buildings
  • an ongoing criminal incident
  • severe weather.

The alert message will direct you where to find more information or  learn what action to take. Emergency messages with additional details will also be posted on eNews, the CMC website, myCMC and Facebook. Less urgent messages will be sent using the college’s e-mail system.

Following a warning, the alert system will be used to provide additional messages or an “all clear” announcement.

Take time right now to update your information and be alert!
