Applications accepted through June 1

Current ninth- and 10th-graders (next year’s 10th- and 11th-graders) are invited to apply for the free First Ascent Youth Leadership program, which will be held June 24-29 at Colorado Mountain College’s residential campus in Leadville.
Now in its 18th year, First Ascent teaches leadership skills in an outdoor college setting, through activities such as rock climbing, mountain climbing and river rafting. Students often return in future years as counselors. The program accepts 40 students each year.
The application deadline has been extended to June 1. Applications are available through high school counselors or online at coloradomtn.edu/firstascent.
