For one night only on Jan. 30, the nationally award-winning Sopris Theatre Company at Colorado Mountain College will present an encore performance of “Hope and Gravity” at Aspen’s Wheeler Opera House.

The play previously ran at CMC Spring Valley at Glenwood Springs last October. It premiered in a staged reading at the 2012 Aspen Fringe Festival.

When an elevator dislodges and plummets inside a big-city high-rise, nine lives intersect in surprising ways, both comic and tragic. By turns hilarious and profound, “Hope and Gravity” traces the barely perceivable threads that connect us all, according to director Brad Moore.

Written by Michael Hollinger, this production features five regional actors, most playing multiple roles. Cast members are Josh Adamson, Michael Banks, Christina Cappelli, Bostyn Elswick and James Steindler.

The curtain for “Hope and Gravity” goes up at 7 p.m. Admission is $20 for adults for general admission.

The Wheeler Opera House is at 320 E. Hyman Ave., Aspen. For tickets, go to aspenshowtix.com or call 970-920-5770. For more information, contact Brad Moore at 970-947-8187 or bmoore@coloradomtn.edu.
