Colorado Mountain College Breckenridge, in partnership with Google for Startups and Techstars Startup Weekend, will present “Startup Weekend Breckenridge” Dec. 6-8, a full weekend-long experience at CMC Breckenridge.
CMC business professor Robert Cartelli and a team of volunteer community leaders will coach participants as they work together to develop new concepts for businesses. Ideas can address a range of social, educational, financial, environmental or other issues. Participants will form into teams and will vote on the most interesting concepts.
Registration begins Friday evening, Dec. 6. Following dinner, Joel Gratz, the founding meteorologist of the OpenSnow website, will talk about launching and growing a business. There will be networking, team forming and pitching, with teamwork beginning at 9 p.m. and working into the evening.
Saturday, Dec. 7, starts at 9 a.m. with breakfast, followed by a full day – and evening if team members wish. Sunday, Dec. 8, starts at 9 a.m., with participants working through the day until dinner and final presentations, judging and awards.
For individual events ticket prices range from $25 to $15 – the Friday night kickoff event or the Sunday night pitch event, respectively. Early bird tickets for the entire weekend are $75 if purchased before Dec. 1, or $99 after Dec. 1.
The weekend event will start at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 6 and wrap up at 9 p.m. Dec. 8 at CMC Breckenridge, 107 Denison Placer Road. For tickets and more information, go to Eventbrite.
