CMC trustees vote on architect contract for Spring Valley

At its Oct. 4, 2017, meeting via teleconference call, the Colorado Mountain College Board of Trustees unanimously voted to approve an architect agreement with Anderson Mason Dale, a Colorado-based architecture firm, for the design of a leadership/recreation center and student center renovations at CMC Spring Valley campus, near Glenwood Springs.

The firm was chosen from among the 13 proposals submitted to the college for the Spring Valley projects, which are scheduled to be constructed in 2018. The total price of the contract is $2.1 million. AMD was named by the American Institute of Architects as 2017 Firm of the Year and has extensive experience in college campus projects in Colorado and other western states.

In the phone meeting trustees also unanimously approved revisions to the college’s policy on equal access, equal opportunity and anti-harassment, to provide enhanced compliance with federal laws. References to the Americans with Disabilities Act, as well as contact information for the college’s Title IX coordinator and ADA coordinator, have been clarified in various publications and on the college’s website.
