CMC seeks to fill board seats

Completed petitions due Aug. 30

The Colorado Mountain Junior College District is seeking outstanding candidates to run for positions on its elected board of trustees. Each term is for four years.

Each potential candidate must be an eligible elector, as defined by state statute, and reside within the boundaries of the district in which they submit their petition to run.  The three districts with seats up for election are:

– District 1 – Pitkin County not including the Roaring Fork School District Re-1 Director District B (Carbondale through Glenwood Springs), plus the area within the boundaries of Re-1 Director District A (Basalt).

– District 3 – The area within the boundaries of Garfield School District Re-2 and Garfield County School District 16 (western Garfield County).

– District 7 – The area within the boundaries of Eagle County School District Re-50J Director Districts B, C, D, E, F and G.

To be eligible as a candidate in the November general elections, interested persons must file a petition to run. Petitions will be available from the college’s district administration office in downtown Glenwood Springs starting Aug. 7. Petitions, including at least 50 qualifying signatures, must be returned to the college’s district administration office by Aug. 30, 2013, by 1:00 p.m. The election will be held Nov. 5, 2013.
