Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Sopris Theatre Company at Colorado Mountain College will present a hilarious relationship thriller Feb. 14-23 at CMC Spring Valley.
“Private Eyes,” written by contemporary playwright Steven Dietz, follows the twists and turns of couples acting in a play – or are they really acting? Matthew’s wife, Lisa, is having an affair with Adrian, a British film director – or maybe not. It’s up to the audience to figure out truth and fiction as the actors bring the story to its surprising conclusion.
Four of the five cast members in “Private Eyes” are Colorado Mountain College students. They are James Steindler as Matthew, Stella von Dedenroth as Lisa, Joshua Adamson as Adrian and Ciara Morrison as Cory. Community actor Michael Banks as Frank rounds out the cast.
Sopris Theatre Company had originally scheduled February performances of “American La Ronde,” also by playwright Dietz. “Private Eyes” is running in its place.
Directed by Brad Moore, “Private Eyes” performances are Feb. 14-15 and Feb. 21-22 at 7 p.m., and Feb. 16 and 23 at 2 p.m. at the New Space Theatre, CMC Spring Valley at Glenwood Springs, 3000 County Road 114.
Admission is $18 for adults and $13 for seniors and students, as well as for CMC employees and graduates. Tickets are available at Eventbrite or by emailing the box office.
