Steamboat’s sustainable take on a classic American pastime

By Ben Saheb, CMC Steamboat blogger correspondent

A Drive-in-Movie is an iconic American activity that goes back to the roots of American history. With Steamboat Springs being an iconic American destination, drive in movies are a perfect activity for the tourist and local alike. The only problem is the majority of Steamboatonians believe that driving into a movie is out dated and most definitely out of style.

Instead, Steamboat residents came up with a better idea: A Bike-in-Movie. Considering Steamboat is also known as “Bike Town USA,” a Bike-in-Movie is more fitting for the culture up here. With a zero impact on the environment, Bike-in-Movies are in, and drive in movies are out. Partnered up with the Tugboat restaurant in Steamboat, this weeks bike in movie was  “The Goonies.”
