At Colorado Mountain College Culinary Institute’s annual “Celebration of Haute Cuisine” benefit dinner earlier this year, diners enjoyed a sumptuous four-course meal at the Keystone Ranch Restaurant. Through ticket sales, they also contributed to the culinary institute’s student scholarship endowment, administered by the CMC Foundation. These funds, in addition to private gifts and pledges, provide scholarships for apprentices to take the rigorous and renowned three-year, 66-credit, 4,000-hour program.

Although at the end of the evening, the CMC Foundation was close to its total goal of $50,000 for scholarships, there was still a bit to make up. That’s when Larry Reavis, on behalf of Alpine Bank, committed the final $8,108 needed to close the gap.

The Colorado Mountain College Culinary Institute operates an innovative apprentice program. Students attend classes at the teaching kitchen at Colorado Mountain College in Breckenridge one day a week and the rest of the week work alongside top-notch chefs at choice Keystone and Breckenridge restaurants.
