‘White and Shadows’ comes to CMC ArtShare Gallery

A piece by Michael Wisner
“White and Shadows,” an exhibit featuring the ceramic art of Michael Wisner, is on display from July 3 through Aug. 27 at the CMC ArtShare Gallery in downtown Glenwood Springs. An artist’s reception will be held from 6-8 p.m. on July 9.

The intricately detailed pottery of ceramist Michael Wisner will be the focus of “White and Shadows,” a new Colorado Mountain College exhibition at the CMC ArtShare Gallery in downtown Glenwood Springs beginning July 3. An artist’s reception will be held July 9 from 6 to 8 p.m., and the exhibit will remain at the gallery through Aug. 27.

Collected and exhibited internationally, including at the Smithsonian Institution, much of Wisner’s work is created from local clay found near his studio in Woody Creek. He is inspired by ancient Anasazi potsherds, and he studies with American Indian and Mexican potters for inspiration to create his own unique vessels.

This CMC ArtShare exhibit is a collaboration between the Ann Korologos Gallery in Basalt, where Wisner’s ceramic art is represented, and Colorado Mountain College. Gallery owner Ann Korologos is a member of the advisory CMC Board of Overseers.

The CMC ArtShare Gallery is at 802 Grand Ave., Glenwood Springs. The gallery is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; and is closed Sunday. The gallery will remain open July 4.
