Colorado landscape photographer John Fielder will give a free multimedia presentation on his newly released book, “Colorado’s Yampa River: Free Flowing & Wild from the Flat Tops to the Green.” The book contains photographs by Fielder and text by educator and river runner Pat Tierney, Ph.D.

A Women in Philanthropy Distinguished Lecture Series event hosted by Colorado Mountain College in Edwards, “The Yampa & Upper Colorado: Celebrating Our Extraordinary Northwest Colorado Rivers,” will be held Oct. 27. The presentation in the auditorium on campus will feature Tierney’s and Fielder’s journey down the 200-mile length of the Yampa, from 11,500 feet in northwest Colorado to Dinosaur National Monument.

Additionally, Fielder will feature photographs and lead a discussion about the Upper Colorado River and the recent Colorado River Cooperative Agreement with the Denver Water Board. The agreement ensures that no major diversions will take place on the “Upper C,” as it’s commonly known.

A 5:00 p.m. reception with the Silverthorne-based photographer will precede the 6:00 presentation.

Fielder’s new book, as well as all his Colorado coffee table, guide and children’s books, and calendars, will be available for sale and signing before and after the presentation.
