A simulcast HD transmission of the New York Metropolitan Opera’s production of “The Tempest,” staged by visionary director Robert Lepage, will begin at 10:55 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, in the Eileen & Paul Finkel Auditorium at Colorado Mountain College in Breckenridge.

Scored by Britain’s preeminent contemporary composer, Thomas Adès, The Met’s production will feature baritone Simon Keenlyside as the powerful sorcerer, Prospero, who shakes the seas and creates turbulence in all the lives he touches.

The local simulcast is presented in high definition through a partnership between Colorado Mountain College and the National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge. “The Met: Live in HD,” simulcast live from New York, is now seen in more than 1,900 movie theaters in 63 countries around the world.

A generous grant from its founding sponsor, The Neubauer Family Foundation, makes “The Met: Live in HD” series possible. Bloomberg provides global corporate sponsorship, and the HD broadcasts are supported by Toll Brothers.

Admission to this showing of “The Met: Live in HD” is $20 for adults, $16 for seniors and Met members, and $10 for students and children under 16. More information is available at 453-5825, Cecile@nromusic.com or www.nromusic.com.
