When the X Games comes to Aspen in January, Colorado Mountain College’s theater troupe, Sopris Theatre Company (formerly CMC Theatre), will offer up an entirely different kind of spectacle when it presents “The Glorious Ones,” a fun and bawdy musical about a 16th century Italian Commedia dell’arte troupe.

Directed by Brad Moore, seven archetypal characters will carouse their way through this memorable performance.

Silly and utterly comedic one moment, tender and moving the next, the musical is filled with entertaining and provocative dramatic fare for adult audiences.

Producers for this performance are Carrie and Jeff Hauser; associate producers are Jim and Kelly Cleaver and Altai Chuluun. Season producers are Jim and Connie Calaway.

Tickets are $20. Curtain is 7 p.m. on Jan. 23 and 24 at the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen. To purchase tickets, contact Aspen Show Tickets, at aspenshowtix.com, 970-920-5770. Tickets will go on sale by Jan. 1.
