SUMMIT AND EAGLE COUNTIES – Colorado Mountain College has heard from community members in both Summit and Eagle counties who have been approached by door-to-door sales representatives who may be implying they are fundraising for the CMC study abroad program, for veterans, or for both.
“Just so that there are no misunderstandings going forward, we want the community to know that door-to-door fundraising is not being done on behalf of Colorado Mountain College,” said Dr. Marc Brennan, college vice president and campus dean for Vail Valley at Edwards.
“Colorado Mountain College would never send students or employees door to door to solicit funds,” said Kristin Heath Colon, CEO of the CMC Foundation. “The college does, however, have a robust study abroad program, and students who need support to have this opportunity. We invite people to go to our website to learn more about taking these classes, including applying for scholarships, at coloradomtn.edu/study-abroad.”
Colon said, “Many of our students have not had the opportunity to travel. Those of us who have had the chance to learn about and visit other countries know how life-changing it can be. Anyone who would like to support students in the study abroad program can donate securely through the CMC Foundation at cmcfoundation.org or by calling the CMC Foundation at 970-947-8378.”
