Machu Picchu. The Pisac Market. The Andes. Colorado Mountain College’s Peru Spanish Immersion program offers participants a chance to immerse themselves in Peruvian culture and Spanish language for four exciting weeks this summer.
The program includes four hours of daily Spanish culture and language classes, a homestay with a Peruvian family, day trips to the Sacsayhuaman ruins, Moray, Salineras and Ollantayambo ruins, Qoricancha, Awanakancha llama farm, Pisac market, and a weekend trip to Machu Picchu. Students can also choose additional optional cultural immersion and volunteer opportunities.
CMC’s language immersion programs provide indelible experiences for students. Matt Myers, who took part in last summer’s Spanish Immersion Program in Costa Rica, describes the experience as life-changing.
“My study abroad trip with CMC was much more than an exciting way to spend the summer and earn college credits. Through my experiences and the interactions I had with the people I met, my trip to Costa Rica forever changed me and helped me learn more about myself. Not only did the total immersion aspect of the trip help improve my understanding of the language, it really helped me get ouf of my comfort zone and open up to a variety of new experiences.”
