“Spellebration” returns to Glenwood! Literacy Outreach and CMC Learning Lab will once again be sponsoring this annual community event, which features teams of three competing in an old-fashioned adult spelling bee. Each team is sponsored by businesses and individuals from all over Garfield County.
At Spellebration, spelling teams dress according to each event’s annual theme. The theme of this year’s event is ‘Literacy on the Bounty’, which means that participants will be competing for best and worst team spelling honors while playfully dressed as pirates, wenches, sea dogs and landlubbers.
This year’s event takes place at the Hotel Colorado on March 1, 2013. If you’re interested in competing, donating a silent auction item, or sponsoring a team, contact Martha Fredendall, Executive Director of Literacy Outreach at literacyoutreach@rof.net, or the CMC Learning Lab at the Glenwood Center for more information.
