Outside Magazine’s Top Chef – CMC Graduate

Summit County chef is moving up, literally.

Written by Micheal Webster, Daniel LeChance was featured in the article "Top Dog" in the November issue of 'Outside' magazine.

Featured in the January/February 2011 Encompass national magazine, CMC graduate Daniel LaChance brags about his most popular dish, “horseradish encrusted Filet Mignon with a morel mushroom cream sauce”. In Keystone, Colorado, Daniel strives to serve the freshest food with a twist of creativeness.

At 11,500ft Daniel LaChance has risen to the top of the food chain, so to speak. Working for Keystone Resort, Daniel can’t take a car to work but rather a gondola which drops him off at the top of North Peak. Also featured in Outside Magazine in November, this chef de cuisine enjoys snowboarding, hiking, fishing, as well as instructing students at Colorado Mountain College in their culinary arts program. Daniel admits that he also has attempted to coax the students into climbing fourteeners with him, which seems to be quite successful until they are asked to participate in peak #2.
