Olympic silver medalist and four-time X Games gold medalist Gretchen Bleiler, a snowboarder who lives in Aspen, will appear at the event, which is scheduled for Sept. 12 at Glenwood Springs High School.
The inaugural installment of what organizer Altai Chuluun and his co-organizers would like to see become an annual event in Glenwood also will feature keynote speaker Mark Brown, an Emmy-nominated inspirational speaker and winner of the 1995 World Champion of Public Speaking award sponsored by Toastmasters International, the largest public speaking organization in the world.
Other speakers will be Colorado Mountain College President and CEO Carrie Hauser, local philanthropist and Roaring Fork Cultural Council founder Jim Calaway and noted musician Willy Tea Taylor.
The event, which serves as a fundraiser for Roaring Fork Young Professionals, will include an “experience hall” from 3-4 p.m. in the hallway outside the Jeannie Miller Theater at GSHS, featuring various informational booths.
The speaking event will run from 4-7 p.m. in the school’s auditorium.
