Dr. Tina Lynn Evans, author of “Occupy Education: Living and Learning Sustainability,” and associate professor of sustainability studies at Colorado Mountain College’s Steamboat Springs campus, will speak at a free open forum at Colorado Mountain College’s campus at Spring Valley on Sept. 27.
Evans holds a Ph.D. in sustainability education from Prescott College. Sustainability education is a rapidly growing field in a world where industrialized living is bumping up against natural limits. Dr. Evans will discuss what she sees as key themes and approaches for learning and living sustainability. She also sheds light on what it means to be a sustainability educator and discusses student experiences and learning.
The free forum will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the New Space Theatre. CMC’s campus at Spring Valley is located at 3000 County Rd. 114, south of Glenwood Springs.
