Starting at 4 PM on Thursday, August 23, all friends, staff, faculty, and students of Colorado Mountain College are invited to a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Academic Services building at Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs.
The celebration moves inside to the new auditorium after the ribbon cutting. Guest speakers including CMC leadership, alumni, students, and donors will speak about the history of CMC in Steamboat Springs and the building’s role in the college’s future. A reception will follow in the Neas Dining Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
Staff and faculty from Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs contributed items to a Time Capsule that will be sealed and installed in the new building until 2112. Items that were within included:
A Grand Opening Postcard, One Hundred Years Poem, a Colorado Mountain College poster, newspaper articles and photos, memorabilia from the CMC Ski Team, a list of the Top Ten songs, phrases, and baby names from 2012, the campus Strategic Plan, a history of the CMC Steamboat campus, a listing of the USA medal standings in the London 2012 Olympics, Steamboat bus schedules, maps and 2012 Visitor Guide, the 2012 Fall Catalog, and a construction hard hat!
