New Ball Observatory to be dedicated at CMC Steamboat

Colorado Mountain College Steamboat Springs will dedicate the campus’s new Ball Observatory on Sept. 10.

The college invites community members to join in thanking philanthropist and stargazer Dr. Robert Ball for his generous gift to the campus, as well as to learn about the future of astronomy in Steamboat Springs. At the dedication ceremony Kathy Kiser-Miller, CMC Steamboat Springs vice president and campus dean, and Paul McCudden, CMC physical science faculty, will say a few words.

The Ball Observatory dedication ceremony will take place from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 10 at CMC Steamboat Springs, 1275 Bob Adams Drive. To reach the ceremony, take Bob Adams Drive; the observatory is on the west side of the CMC Steamboat campus, behind the Academic Center.
