Local Authors Bellhouse and McHargue Are Featured

CMC in Leadville Library’s Local Author Series Continues in March

Leadville, CO, February 13, 2014:  Leadville residents and authors Carol Bellhouse and Laurel McHargue will be sharing from their works and discussing their writing process as the CMC in Leadville Library’s “Local Author Series” continues in March. The events are free and open to the public. Food and beverage is served.

Carol Bellhouse will read and discuss her work on Thursday, March 6 from 12-1pm in CMC Library’s Room 306. Carol Bellhouse is a prolific author with six published books, plus five more set for release in 2014, along with twenty stage- and screenplays. Carol attended Wellesley College, Wesleyan University and received her law degree from Washington University in St. Louis.  She has won multiple awards for her legal work and her writing over the years.

Laurel McHargue will read and discuss her work on Monday, March 17 from 12-1pm in CMC Library’s Room 306. Laurel McHargue recently published “Miss?” – her first novel and one based on personal experiences working in several public school systems. Like Laurel, who is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, the novel’s main character follows her military service by embarking on a teaching career in the public school system. The novel exposes many of the challenges faced by school teachers in the American educational system.
