Colorado Mountain College in Edwards will host local mountaineer and CMC adjunct science faculty member Jon Kedrowski, Ph.D., with a reception, talk and book signing on March 23 titled “Everest: Rebuilding the Rooftop of the World.”
The event is part of the CMC Women in Philanthropy Lecture Series and will focus on Kedrowski’s experience at base camp during the 2015 earthquake and the ongoing efforts to rebuild the nation of Nepal.
He will also give a preview of his newest book, “Skiing and Sleeping on the Summits: Cascade Volcanoes of the Pacific Northwest.”
The evening, which is free and open to the public, begins with a reception at 5:30 p.m. on March 23 at the Colorado Mountain College Edwards campus, followed by Kedrowski’s lecture at 6:30 p.m. A book signing will take place at 7:30 p.m.
