CMC partners with Steamboat Ski Patrol and Nordica for first annual Beacon and Eggs avalanche beacon hunt event
Colorado Mountain College, Nordica, and the Steamboat Ski Patrol teamed up to create the first annual Beacon and Eggs avalanche beacon hunt. The event will take place this Saturday, April 7th, in the “Chutes” area of Steamboat Ski Area, and is an effort to promote avalanche awareness.
Hone your transceiver skills and win great door prizes! The event is a benefit for the Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC), the oldest public avalanche forecast program in the United States. The CAIC serves a critically important role creating avalanche forecasts and opportunities for affordable public avalanche education in Colorado.
All Beacon and Eggs Avalanche Beacon Hunt participants are required to fill out an entry form between 7 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. The hunt starts at 9:30 a.m at the top of Morningside.
