Farm to Fork Fair at CMC-Aspen to focus on local, healthy, sustainable products, produce

Poster for CMC Aspen's Sustainability Farm to Fork FairColorado Mountain College, which offers a bachelor’s degree in sustainability studies, is taking sustainability to the community by hosting the Farm to Fork Fair, a free barbecue featuring local food, at its Aspen campus. Attendees can expect discussions and delicious foods at this afternoon event, which is open to the public from 1 to 5 p.m. on June 15.

The organizers’ goals for the event are to provide education and information about production, processing and distribution of food that comes from Roaring Fork Valley farms and businesses. Invited presenters will demonstrate how these sustainable systems enhance the environmental, economic, social and nutritional health of the Roaring Fork Valley.

Invited businesses include Osage Gardens, Rock Bottom Ranch, Avalanche Cheese Co., Crystal River Meats, Sustainable Settings, Community Office for Resource Efficiency/Clean Energy Economy for the Region, Wild Bear Bee Farm, The Other Side Ranch, Roaring Fork Conservancy and Aspen Together Regenerating the Environment through Education.
