Colorado Mountain College biology instructor travels to Germany to film lectures
Since 2009, when Dr. George Cornwall began to teach at Colorado Mountain College, she has been incorporating technology into her approach to learning – and she’s good at it. In 2013, she received Colorado Mountain College’s Adjunct Faculty of the Year award for the Aspen campus. And she is well known for her popular, challenging and tech-delivered biology and science classes.
That leadership in teaching led her on an adventure to Leipzig, Germany, where she worked with German eLearning company Lecturio to produce a polished video lecture series, complete with professional hair and make-up, and a green screen. The series is designed for students who want to take the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) and go to medical school.
Through the years, Cornwall’s use of YouTube on her own channel to connect with students has given both her online and face-to-face students at Colorado Mountain College the option to learn online at their own pace. Her ongoing appearance on YouTube also piqued the interest of recruiters at Lecturio, an established German online education corporation that is entering the American market.
