A retrospective exhibit featuring the poster art of past and present Sopris Theatre Company at Colorado Mountain College productions will be highlighted during an opening reception Dec. 3 at the CMC ArtShare Gallery at Morgridge Commons in downtown Glenwood Springs.
This is the first public reception for an art exhibit at the new Morgridge Commons.
The reception immediately follows a 2 p.m. matinee performance of “Uncommon Women and Others,” the play that opens Dec. 1 at the New Space Theatre at Colorado Mountain College Spring Valley. Matinee audience members are invited to come downtown after the show and join the public from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for the reception, to enjoy the artwork and light refreshments.
The posters on display are created by past and present CMC graphic design students, some of whom will be in attendance. Current and former Sopris Theatre cast members are also expected to attend the opening of the exhibit, “Decade of Design & Drama.”
Morgridge Commons is at 815 Cooper Ave., upstairs from the Glenwood Springs Branch Library. For more information, contact Cheryl Yarrow at 947-8367 or cyarrow@coloradomtn.edu.
