Community fairs mark the start of the semester at CMC

The first week of the fall semester kicked off at Colorado Mountain College with activities across the campuses. The Steamboat Springs campus held a community fair on Aug. 29 where students had the opportunity to learn about local agencies and student clubs while enjoying music and fun activities.

More than 40 clubs and community organizations participated in the fair. Community organizations in attendance included Vectra Bank, Coaching Academics, Anytime Fitness, Bank of the West, Steamboat Resort, Planned Parenthood, Powder Pursuits, Wendy’s, Union Wireless, Horizons, STARS, Christy Sports, Democrats of Routt County, Republicans of Routt County, Pregnancy Resource Center, Young Life, Skate Church, Deluxe Tattoo, Advocates and Hungry Dog.

A community fair was also held at Colorado Mountain College in Leadville on Aug. 27. The event included a barbecue and fun activities – including sumo wrestling – in addition to local agencies.

Community organizations in attendance included the Colorado Workforce Center, Ski Cooper, Leadville Hub, Pueblo Bank and Trust, the Lake County Sheriff Department, SOS Outreach, Lake County Public Health, Lake County High School Athletics, Full Circle, St. Vincent General Hospital, Lake County Project Dream, Build a Generation, West Central Mental Health, First Mountain Bank, Wells Fargo, Rocky Mountain Family Practice, Lake County Recreation, and several CMC student clubs and services.
