EDWARDS] – Following a national search and with enthusiastic local input, a new campus vice president will soon lead Colorado Mountain College’s campus in Edwards. Dr. Kathryn Regjo, currently president and CEO of Lincoln College of New England, will start her new position at CMC March 1.

“We have been searching for a collaborative leader who is dedicated to academic quality, has strong financial acumen, is eager to collaborate with the community and can effectively balance both the needs of an individual campus and the college as a whole,” said Dr. Carrie Besnette Hauser, president and CEO of Colorado Mountain College. “Kathryn has demonstrated to us that she has all these attributes and more.”

“My family and I are thrilled for the opportunity to be part of the CMC and Vail Valley communities,” Regjo said. “I am excited to be part of an institution committed to supporting all educational pursuits of individuals in the community it serves.”

Regjo is currently the president and CEO of Lincoln College of New England, a small, private residential college in Southington, Conn. Before joining Lincoln College, she held several positions with The Princeton Review, a national leader in providing college-bound students with test-preparation services, tutoring and admissions resources, as well as resource books and online courses. In Boulder, Colo., she was regional vice president; in Ann Arbor, Mich., she was executive director, director of marketing and assistant director of high school programs.

Regjo holds a Doctor of Education in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Arts in international business and German from Adrian College of Adrian, Mich. She also studied at the Universität Heidelberg in Heidelberg, Germany.

She is a member of the Connecticut American Council on Education Women’s Network, Penn Alliance for Higher Education and Democracy, and the American Association of University Women. Regjo enjoys swimming, hiking and living outdoors. She is married to Daniel Regjo, and they have two children, Luka (7) and Ella (4).

Praise from colleagues, community members

“During the interviews I saw that Dr. Regjo possesses a focused, analytical mind that is supported by a warm and collaborative personality,” said Jeremiah Johnson, an instructional coordinator at CMC’s Edwards campus and a member of the search committee that screened and interviewed candidates. “I believe Dr. Regjo will make informed, confident decisions and that she will make an excellent leader for our campus.”

Among the community leaders who weighed in during the selection process were Chris Romer, president and CEO of the Vail Valley Partnership, and Doris Dewton, CMC Foundation Board member and former chair of the college’s board of trustees.

“Kathryn Regjo is the ideal person to be the new vice president at Colorado Mountain College’s campus in Edwards,” said Romer. “She has a stellar background, and will benefit our community as a strong and capable leader. In her current position, she has supported strong and representative advisory boards, fostered relationships with local high schools that resulted in a dual-credit program and built strong relationships with local governments and chambers of commerce. This skill set will greatly benefit our community.”

“It’s clear that Kathryn Regjo has the extraordinary people skills, decisiveness and experience to be a great leader for our campus, as well as a vibrant leader for our community,” Dewton said.
