Resource for businesses in Western Slope
Colorado Mountain College in Edwards is now a certified Pearson VUE Testing Center. That means community members will no longer have to travel to the Front Range to take tests for information technology, education, medical, real estate and other certifications.
“We think this is a great service to provide the community, and in line with our mission of creating a better future for our students and community,” said Lourra Barthuly, director of campus operations at CMC in Edwards. “Local companies used to have to send candidates to Denver for testing, and we can now provide that service here. It’s a resource for the entire Western Slope.”
Colorado Mountain College underwent a rigorous process to ensure the testing facility is secure and accessible for all candidates. Community members are already taking advantage of the convenience of local testing, and Colorado Mountain College anticipates the number of testers to increase as word gets out that the service is available.
Pearson VUE offers testing for a wide variety of industries, including college entrance exams, software development, the construction trades, human resources, financial services, health, nursing, pharmacy, insurance, legal services, appraisers, and mortgage & loan. Local candidates have already taken certification exams in Elementary Education, CompTIA Security, VMware, and Ethical Hacking and Countermeasures.
Ray Murray, vice president – business development, Pearson VUE, said, “We are proud to welcome Colorado Mountain College in Edwards to the rapidly growing global network of Pearson VUE Authorized Test Centers. Together, we are providing even more candidates with the opportunity to obtain meaningful certifications and advance their careers.”
