The halls of Colorado Mountain College in Rifle will be filled with artwork this spring when the college joins with the Bookcliffs Arts Center to present the Colorado Mountain College and Bookcliffs Arts Center Fine Arts Show.
The Rifle CMC campus will host a free public reception at 6-8:30 p.m. on April 15. During the reception, votes will be tallied for People’s Choice Awards, with $250 awarded for first place, $175 for second and $75 for third. Artwork will also be for sale, with proceeds going to the artwork’s artist, the college and the Bookcliffs Arts Center.
Paintings and other artwork by Colorado Mountain College students, faculty and staff, and by members of the Bookcliffs Arts Center, will be hung on the walls in the academic hallway. Three-dimensional pieces – such as sculpture and ceramics – will be displayed in the glass showcases in the college’s lobby and student lounge. The exhibit will remain at the campus from April 6 to May 8. Building hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
