Colorado Mountain College Glenwood Springs will present “Climbing El Capitan,” a talk featuring Glenwood Springs native 10-year-old Selah Schneiter and her father Mike Schneiter. Selah is the youngest person on record to climb Yosemite’s 3,000-foot El Capitan.
The Schneiters will tell the story of how Selah summoned up the courage and trained to complete the epic five-day climb of the Nose of El Capitan this past June.
“Climbing El Capitan” will take place 6:30-8 p.m. Sept. 27 at CMC Glenwood Springs, 1402 Blake Ave., Glenwood Springs. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
The event is part of the Gift of Education Free Lecture Series, which presents educational topics to benefit and engage with the Roaring Fork Valley community.
