Flu shots available in Steamboat, Garfield County

In Steamboat Springs:
The Alpine Campus of Colorado Mountain College, in Steamboat Springs, is hosting an H1N1 clinic with the VNA on Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Schaffrick Lounge, Willett Hall. The VNA will also have available seasonal flu shots.

This is open to faculty and staff as well as students. The H1N1 vaccination is free and the seasonal flu shot will cost $22 to faculty and staff. Student Government and Residence Life are sponsoring it for free to students.

In Garfield County (Glenwood Springs, Carbondale, and Rifle):
H1N1 flu vaccine is now available to the general public. Due to the availability of H1N1 vaccine, Garfield County Public Health is hosting walk-in H1N1 clinics in Rifle and Glenwood Springs. Anyone ages 6 months and older will be able to receive their vaccination.

The county is also hosting seasonal flu shot clinics. The H1N1 flu clinics will take place Thursday, Dec. 10, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Glenwood Springs Community Center and at the Rifle Public Health Office (across from City Market). The H1N1 vaccine is free if received through Public Health. Children 9 years old and younger need two doses of the vaccine.

On Saturday, Dec. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. seasonal flu clinics will be taking place at Ace Hardware in Carbondale and at Fred’s Hardware in Rifle. Seasonal flu clinics are open to anyone age 6 months and older. The cost for a seasonal flu shot is $20 for adults and $10 for children.
