Group exhibit at CMC Aspen focuses on books

A group exhibition at the Colorado Mountain College Aspen campus will feature the work of more than 30 local and other Colorado artists, using the form of the book as an inspiration or starting point.

“Open Book: The Book as Object and Image” will run from Jan. 15 through May 7, with a free, public opening reception scheduled for Monday, Jan. 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the gallery, 0255 Sage Way.

know it may be diminishing, as the e-book becomes more prevalent,” said K Rhynus Cesark, CMC art faculty. She and co-curator Liz Heller hope the exhibit will bring awareness to the importance of the physicality of books.
