Colorado Mountain College faculty members who teach fitness, science, theater and process technology all received this year’s Faculty of the Year awards from the college district’s western campuses.
Annually, employees and students at Colorado Mountain College’s seven campuses and its online learning department nominate outstanding faculty members to be considered for Faculty of the Year awards. A committee from each area makes the final determination. Out of those, one collegewide adjunct honoree and one collegewide full-time honoree is named.
This year, five educators from the college’s western campuses received recognition as top faculty members. (See accompanying story for eastern campus Faculty of the Year recipients.)
- Aspen and Carbondale:
- Eileen Hinchliffe, who’s taught fitness at CMC Aspen since 1984, has developed a dedicated following. A dozen enthusiastic students nominated Hinchliffe to be named Aspen’s adjunct, or part-time, Faculty of the Year.
- Glenwood Springs and Spring Valley:
- Rod Taylor, an associate professor of biology and chemistry at CMC Spring Valley, was named the campus full-time Faculty of the Year. A number of Taylor’s students noted his ability to ensure that they were successful in his classes.
- Brad Moore was named not only the adjunct, or part-time, Faculty of the Year for Glenwood Springs and Spring Valley. The theater instructor was also honored with CMC’s overall, collegewide adjunct Faculty of the Year award.
- Rifle:
- Stewart Clark, who worked one year as a career coach at Colorado Mountain College’s Rifle campus, has taught process technology there for the past two years. He received Rifle’s 2017 full-time Faculty of the Year award.
- Receiving the adjunct Faculty of the Year award for Rifle was Jennifer Hood, who teaches science and is a part-time lab assistant and coordinator.
