“Artifact,” slip casted porcelain, by Amanda Ramsay, is among the works of art from 44 current and former Colorado Mountain College students now on display at the college’s Aspen campus in the exhibit “Contemporary Visionaries.” A free public opening will be held at the campus, 0255 Sage Way, from 5 to 7 p.m. on June 20.

The walls and pedestals of Colorado Mountain Aspen are still vibrating after the campus’s packed 50th anniversary party and faculty art exhibit opening in April. But now a new show, featuring the work of current and former students and also honoring the college’s 50 years, is bringing vibrant new works to the community.

“Contemporary Visionaries: Featuring Current Work by CMC Aspen Students in Honor of 50 Years of Art at Colorado Mountain College” is on display through Sept. 7. The public is invited to meet the artists and attend a free opening reception June 20, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The work of 44 artists – in such media as painting, encaustic painting, jewelry and metalsmithing, ceramics, 3D printed ceramics, collage, printmaking and more – will be on display in the campus gallery and lobby. If you’d like to view the exhibit at a time other than the opening, please call 925-7740 for gallery hours, as classes and meetings are often held in the gallery.

Colorado Mountain College Aspen is located at 0255 Sage Way (Aspen Airport Business Center).
