The Sopris Theatre Company at Colorado Mountain College opens its 2016-17 season Sept. 16 with “A Resume for Immortality,” written and performed by Gary Ketzenbarger, theater program coordinator for the company, as well associate professor of speech and theater and a tai chi instructor at the college.
Performed in New York City at the United Solo Theatre Festival, the world’s largest solo theater festival, the play focuses on tai chi as Taoism in action. The actual life depicted is the playwright’s own, which illustrates the redemptive value of tai chi.
Performance dates of “A Resume for Immortality” at Spring Valley are Sept. 16-17 at 7 p.m. and Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. The solo performance is directed by Brad Moore.
