The Colorado Animal Rescue (CARE) of Glenwood Springs will be celebrating their 10th Anniversary on September 25. Located on Colorado Mountain College’s Spring Valley Campus, this non-profit shelter prides itself on teaching Veterinary Technology students how to provide abandoned animals the best care they can possibly offer.
Along with striving to educate Garfield County on how to give animals the proper attention and maintenance they need, the staff at CARE also places animals in approved homes according to their specific situations.
The main event of CARE’s Anniversary Bash will be a performance given by Animal Planet Veterinarian and comedian Dr. Kevin Fitzgerald. Dr. Fitzgerald has been caring for domestic pets for 15 years and now specializes in exotic animals as well. Not only does Dr. Fitzgerald work on-camera 10 hours a week for Animal Planet’s TV show, “Emergency-Vets”, but also in his free time he has taken a strong interest in tap dancing and comedy.
The rest of the evening’s events will include: catering provided by Hestia, music presented by the Aspen Choral Society and the Hell Roaring String Band. There will also be a video premier of “10 Years of Care” and cash bar.
Join the staff of CARE at the Carbondale Recreation Center and in their celebration. Event tickets may be purchased from the Colorado Animal Rescue for $75. The event starts at 5:30pm and will last until 10pm. For more information please contact 970-947-9173 or email care@rof.net.
