CMC is pleased to announce an all-media call to visual artists, writers, musicians, and filmmakers for the first Creative Expressions of Sustainability Award. Works selected will be displayed at the Sustainability Conference, which takes place April 21 and 22, 2016 at the CMC Steamboat Springs campus.
Juried by a panel of faculty, students, and staff, the Creative Expressions of Sustainability Award seeks to showcase creative, dynamic, and innovative student work that seeks to bring awareness, solve problems, and create dialogue concerning issues of sustainability including ecology, social justice, human rights, compassion, economics, agriculture, the environment, and more.
Eligibility: All current CMC students are eligible to apply. Faculty and staff may submit for presentation, but are not eligible for prizes.
Media: The following media are welcome: written works, drawing, painting, sculpture, design, photography, video, audio, mixed media, installation, music, and performance art. Series and multi-thematic works are also encouraged. Artists may submit up to three works of art for consideration. Please consult with the conference committee for large format works.
Deadline for submissions is March 7th at 5:00 PM.
Submissions: Visual Art, music, audio, writing, and video submissions may be in actual or digital format for the jury process. Download and complete the fillable form at the end of this paragraph and submit to Kevin Williams (kwilliams@coloradomtn.edu), Library Director, or Tracey Urbick (turbick@coloradmtn.edu), Librarian, via e-mail (use subject line: creative expressions award) or mail. Items may also be dropped off in person at the Library at the CMC Steamboat Springs campus. For installation or performance art, submit a summary of the proposed work in the form below.

Awards: Awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be given (1st place, $300.00; the 1st place recipient’s work will be on display for one year at a CMC location; 2nd place, $200.00; 3rd place, $100.00). Artists will be notified Friday, April 8th whether or not they have received an award
