1000 Words: First Ascent

Each year, the First Ascent program brings together students from CMC Service areas for a free, five-day residential program at Colorado Mountain College in Leadville.  The program helps young adults from various social and economic backgrounds develop leadership skills and confidence through activities such as rock climbing, rafting, a Mt. Elbert peak attempt and other activities designed to foster their leadership skills. The photos below capture moments on day two of the 2015 First Ascent as an incredible group of young people worked on consensus building and communication.
