Now in its fourth year, the Summer Technology Institute at Colorado Mountain College in Breckenridge is accepting 10 more applications to fill its upcoming session June 22-26.
During this weeklong, technology-packed learning adventure, students aged 11 to 14 will learn about the creative and business aspects of technology. In a team-based, project outcome atmosphere they will access state-of-the-art computer applications, and they will work with instructors who are at the forefront of their fields.
These middle school students will learn about website development, e-commerce shopping carts, Photoshop, video production, digital photography, design and editing using Adobe software. Students who have attended the institute in the past have said that what they’ve learned at Colorado Mountain College helps them to get a jump start on what they study in school. At the end of the week, students will apply and present all their new skills through their final capstone projects.
The camp is held Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and includes lunch, snacks and beverages. To enroll in the institute, students must have a grade point average of at least 2.5 and submit a letter of recommendation. Tuition is $495.
